Getting Started: Inviting Initial Users
Welcome aboard! We’re delighted you’re here. As an Admin who recently got access to Chorus, it’s time to invite your initial users. These people should first just be your Admins, Integration users (ex. Your Salesforce Admin), and leadership to start. The rest of the organization should be added only after your integrations have been configured. This will ensure your teams and individual reps have a hiccup-free experience.
When inviting these first folks, you’ll need to designate their role type, team, and license type.
Step 1: Invite Other Admins, Integration Users and Leadership
- Sign into Chorus and go to User Management
- From here, start with your most senior team members first and click add users > by email > select role type, who their direct manager is (should match your org structure), and license type.
Step 2: Select Role Type
When selecting role type, it’s important to bear in mind what functionality they’ll need to access. Each role type will have a custom experience of Chorus based on the needs of that role. Down the line, you can define role-based permissions for capabilities such as modifying recordings, sharing, coaching, setting up trackers and other admin controls.
The other role types are:
- Admin - This role is in charge of global settings including system set-up and user management. Some settings cannot be changed. Admins also have complete visibility into all recordings and data.
- Enablement / Leadership - This role is for members of the Enablement group that support the Sales organization. Their Chorus experience will be tailored to viewing multiple teams’ recordings and data.
- Manager (AE / Other) - This role is for managers of primary sales and account teams. Their Chorus experience will be tailored to their teams’ calls and proactively pushing managers coaching recommendations.
- Manager (SDR) - This role is for managers of outbound SDR teams. Similar to the AE Manager, this role type will tailor their experience to their own SDR teams’ calls and connection rates, and will also proactively push coaching recommendations.
- Rep (AE / Other) - This role is for individual contributors on primary sales and account teams. This view will tailor the rep’s experience to their own calls while giving them the flexibility to learn from the top reps.
- Rep (SDR) - This role is for individual contributors on outbound SDR teams. Similar to the AE Rep, this role will focus on the individual’s calls and connection rates while also permitting SDRs to listen / watch calls from top SDRs on their own team as well as calls AEs are having.
Among other key abilities, Admins are able to:
- Set organization wide settings
- Access the integrations page
- View all teams’ recordings
- Invite / deactivate other users
- Create trackers
Admins can also grant functionality access to other role types by changing Role-Based Permissions. This means Admins can adjust other roles so they are able to do things like:
- Limit deletion or modification of conversation data to only users with the right level of access.
- Enable internal sharing only, and control data sharing by defining who can send recordings to users outside of your organization.
- Allow managers to download recordings, so they can listen to recordings offline at their leisure.
- Let Managers develop their own coaching initiatives for their teams. Get managers involved in developing a coaching culture for their teams.
- Empower managers or reps to create trackers for their team’s talk tracks. Tracker creation doesn’t have to be managed solely by Chorus Admins anymore; by setting role-based permissions, team members can contribute to tracker creation. This will enable managers to get more involved in coaching, and reps to create trackers for the key words and phrases they are working on.
- Unlock peer-to-peer coaching for Reps, or alternatively, limit access to scorecard completion to Managers or Enablement users.
- Allow managers to invite users, if managers at your organization own new hire onboarding.
Step 3: Select Who This User Reports To
Teams in Chorus should reflect Teams on your Org Chart. For this reason, we want to automatically have your teams and user hierarchy in Chorus reflect your own organization. Click here to learn more about setting up teams.
Step 4: Select License Type
Recorders are paid seats for folks who are actively recording their meetings and want them to appear in Chorus. Listeners are free and have access to everything in the platform Recorders do; we’re just not going to capture any Listener meetings in Chorus.
Going forward you can see who in your company is in what role by going to settings -> user management -> Roles and permissions:
