Q: How can I stop recording or turn recording off for a call?
We're here to make call recording and compliance easy. In the event a customer or prospect asks you, the Chorus recorder, to stop recording the call, you have a few options.
Q: How can I stop recording or turn recording off for a call?
A: There are four ways you can turn recording off
1. Stop Recording with Native Zoom
When using the Native Zoom Integration, the host of the meeting can stop recording by clicking:
- Pause or Stop Zoom controls (see number 1 and 3 in screenshot below)
Note: pressing pause will permanently stop the recording. This is for compliance reasons -- once Chorus has been asked not to record, whether it’s just part of a meeting or the remainder of one, Chorus must not be able to start recording in that meeting again. - Stop Live Stream from Live on Chorus.ai dropdown (see number 2 in screenshot below)if the Pause/Stop Recording buttons are used from the Zoom Interface, Chorus will stop recording.
- End Meeting (see number 4)
2. Stop Recording when Chorus joins as a participant
If your organization does not have Native Zoom (or your customer is hosting the meeting), Chorus will join the meeting as another attendee. The host of the meeting can remove Chorus the same way you'd remove any other participant. Open up the participant pane, find Chorus, click more > Remove.
3. Force-hang up
If you are not the host of the meeting but are a Chorus recorder, you can discreetly remove Chorus by going to www.chorus.ai/record and clicking the red hang up button:
Chorus will know what meeting you're currently in, and clicking the hang up button will remove Chorus immediately.
4. Proactively toggle recording off (or on) in advance
If a meeting is coming up that you already know should not be recorded, you can proactively turn recording off for that meeting before it ever starts. Head to the My Recordings page and check out the collapsable calendar pane. This will display your upcoming meetings and will show you which ones are set to record automatically and which aren't. To turn off recording for a future meeting, simply toggle recording off.
Similarly, recording can be toggled on for future meetings as well. This tends to be most helpful for meetings that are not automatically set to record. For example, your weekly sales team meetings are internal and therefore not set to auto-record, but this week you have a special training you'd like to keep for reference. Simply toggle the video icon ON and you're all set!
